Kihei Beaches
The Kihei Coast from the end of Ma'alea Beach to Keawakapu Beach Park is much less well known than the beaches further south in Wailea and Makena. There are numerous beautiful white sand beaches in Kihei , which offer good snorkling, swimming, begining surfing and excellent suntanning.
Cove park is Kihei's favorite little surf break. This protected cove is a great place to learn and during a south swell it's a fun place to watch Kihei surfers.
Kama'ole beach I, II, and III are great, the water is clean, and the swimming is good. This is where many of south Maui's swimmers swim each morning. Being one of the sunniest areas on Maui, many of Kihei condos are along this stretch of beaches along with shops and restaurants. Kamaole I, II and III all have lifeguards.
Keawakapu Beach is about one mile further, it is not well marked but has 2 public entrances, one on the north end of the beach and one on the south end. This beach is more private with over one half mile of white sand. The swimming is nice and the water usually very clean. Wailea homes and Wailea condos begin soon after the south end of this beach.
