Halama Street is located in Kihei, one of Maui' most popular beach towns. Here you will find some of the most spectacular Maui oceanfront homes. With a west facing oceanfront setting, the sunsets are outrageous! This is a great street to enjoy a morning bike ride on, as Kalama Park is at the north end of it. Part of the oceanfront homes on Halama Street have a rock wall in front of them and the other half have a beach. Waiohuli Beach is what we always called this beach as kids, but I'm not sure if it is the real name, it is a lovely little "Maui style beach" with very few visiters. Early in the mornings, you'll see local folks searching for Limu, a hard to find seaweed that goes in Poke and many other local dishes. This beach is great for Kayaking, shell picking and sometimes when there is a south swell surfers enjoy the small break at Halama Street. It is not the best swimming beach unless you swim out past the reef.
